DESIGN PRODUCTION EDUCATION @ RAROA - WATER THEME (PERFORMING ARTS)

What is DPE or Design Production and Education?
It is Raroa's Technology and Arts response to effectively "unbundle" and deconstruct the "established structures and routines and reassemble them in newer smarter ways".  Hess and Meeks (2010, p.41)

Part of the DPE paradigm shift in practice is what we call
"Personalising learning"...where the system - (learning system) is built around the learner. Rather than the learner being required to fit around the system we the DPE team aspire to cater for our learners needs by giving them choice, the space, time, technology and encouraging creativity by using knowledge (new and old) to solve problems and find solutions to challenges as they arise on a "just in time" basis.

Check out the creativity of some of the students in the DPE Water Class.

Above Declan shows his newly designed stool. He moved seamlessly between the Performing Arts and DPE 2 suites (Hard Materials).
